Who we are

David Barker - Specialist musculoskeletal and sports Physiotherapist; Director

David graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2008 and worked in Canada at The Canadian Back Institute for 4 years, specialising in exercise based occupational rehabilitation, spinal care, and pain management. David managed a complex injury, multidisciplinary occupational rehabilitation program during this time, helping anyone from lumberjacks to truck drivers get back to work following major trauma. David started his sports medicine career in Canada too, with experience gained in professional ice hockey and regional football. Returning to the UK, David worked in one of London's top sports medicine and spinal clinics, before relocating to Belfast to work for the Irish Football Association with academy age international footballers and work within private practice. David has since worked in a national clinical governance lead role in patient safety and clinical quality, covering Northern Ireland, Wales and the West / East Midlands on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions and Department for Communities.

Shona Lockhart - Specialist musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, paediatric orthpaedics with a special interest in scoliosis.

Shona graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2008 and worked in Canada at The Canadian Back Institute for 4 years, specialising in adult musculoskeletal and chronic pain management. Shona also started her paediatric career in Canada, working in the community and at schools with children with neuromuscular conditions. On her return to the UK Shona held a senior paediatric orthopaedic position at The Royal Free Hospital in London, rehabilitating children following major polytrauma and surgery. Since returning to Belfast, Shona has continued to work in paediatrics at the regional children's specialist unit at the Royal Hospital in Belfast, where she is the regional specialist for scoliosis management and rehabilitation.
